Robbie Tucker works on manuscripts of any length to provide full-service editing: developmental, copy, and line. Potential clients receive a no-cost sample edit of their work before starting. She will offer an assortment of suggestions on how to proceed with writing and ghostwriting projects. She has a sharp focus, she listens carefully, and she heartily embodies your characters and plot lines. With cinematic vision she helps writers create a movie in the minds of their readers.
Robbie came to NYC from California where she worked at Francis Coppola's Zoetrope in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Knowing her lifelong love of telling stories, friends suggested maybe she should write them.
What she discovered was how much she loves helping other writers tell their stories. A background in film production and time in editing rooms inform her keen awareness of details and continuity.
Robbie has over three decades of experience in film production, publishing, media, graphic arts, and design. Her essays have been published in Ducts and film reviews in The Three Tomatoes blog. Her clients' work has been published in Greenpoint Press; Pointed Leaf Press; Telemachus Press; Liberia Publications; Archway Publishing; and numerous independent platforms.
She worked as a video producer at CBS Records, where she was awarded a Gold Record for the promotion of Bob Dylan's Infidels. She was lauded in Record World as a producer on "the Cecil B. DeMille extravaganzas of music videos" for Jim Steinman's Ants in my Pants. She has worked on movies with directors Francis Coppola, Carroll Ballard, Neil Young, Cliff Robertson, Wes Craven, and the Maysles Brothers.
